The vegetable-tanned leather means that no toxic chemicals are used in the preparation of the animal skin, and the ensuing leather is exceptionally strong and long-lasting. The leather’s surface is sanded slightly in a special polishing process but otherwise remains untreated. The 200 cream-coloured pages have plenty of space for drawings, designs, sketches, notes, etc. The premium paper quality has ink-resistant properties to prevent bleed through, allowing the use of fountain pens or Indian ink. The paper sheets are perforated and contain punched holes, so that sketchbooks can be easily replaced by simply untying the leather straps on the spine.
