El Casco M5 Stapler, small, chrome with felt on base

The “M5” desk stapler is a classic office accessory from El Casco. Thanks to its understated and classic design, featuring unusual details, this model is just as popular now as it was more than 70 years ago.
Three different variants of stapling are possible with this model: open, semi-open and closed. A screw on the base of the stapler is used to determine the different types of stapling using a standard 24/6 staple. The rubberised base gives additional grip to the stapler when in use.
Each desk accessory from El Casco, including the “M5” desk stapler, is, as far as possible, crafted by hand and engraved with a consecutive serial number. Consequently, each desk stapler is unique and is intended for lifelong service. The steel is polished six times followed by chrome plating, thus giving the silver-coloured stapler a special look.
Nobody back in the 1920s would have dreamed that El Casco would become one of the hottest manufacturers of premium office accessories. Back then, the Spanish company produced weapons. Only during the global economic crisis, did El Casco hit upon the idea of producing exclusive office accessories, and designed its very first model – the “M5” desk stapler.
The stapler is still available today in the same form as the one produced all those years ago and also comes in a smaller version. What many people do not know: Traces of weapon manufacturing are still found in today’s desk accessories. The magazine of the M5 used to store the staples was inspired by the manufacture of a revolver barrel.
