It contains the playing pieces in boxwood for the classic board game of nine men’s morris, draughts and chess, as well as dominoes made of Bakelite®. The removable lid is printed on both sides with the specific playing surfaces in white. The board can either be used separately or kept on top of the box for playing. There are four velvet pouches for storing the playing pieces. They come in contrasting colours to complement the storage box. The inside of the storage box has four compartments and is covered with water-repellent and scratch-resistant, embossed leather (cowhide). The decorative stitching tones with the colour of the leather, and the edges are painted by hand. It is crafted using traditional techniques and expertise in a leather goods workshop in Italy, which is specialised in creating interior accessories. A unique item of skilled workmanship that will give years of enjoyment.
The storage box is 39 × 39 cm and roughly 8 cm high.
