The barrel is basically wrapped in protective chain mail with a new and indestructible Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coating that is complemented by silver-plated and rhodium-plated fittings. The texture of the coating on the barrel results in a unique feel and writing experience. The rhodium-plated nib is made of 18-carat gold, and the fine engraving adds to the look and feel of the pen. Additional functionality is achieved by means of the screw-on cap that can be posted on the other end to act as a counterbalance in weight when writing, plus a spring-loaded clip.
